New technologies have made audiences more complex and unpredictable. How far do you agree with this statement?            In today's world of film, movie companies are always looking for ways to engage audiences who are drawn to streaming platforms and digital content. As cinematic experiences develop, companies must look for ways to keep children and adults entertain with their content by welcoming new storytelling techniques and impose technology to increase viewers. Title Sequence Final

Hi blog! Today in class we went over our final title sequence of our movie opener and our reasoning behind the picking of the font, color, and style. For my group, our editor Kristian used a 'playfair display' as our font since it fit best with what our movie is about. It gave the professional look from the beginning so the audience can understand the movie better. The font in the beginning of the film is white to gather the audience's attention so they are able to read it since the background is dark. Throughout the rest of the movie the colors used were only black and white and gold when introducing the title. When introducing the production company and title there was a fade to black since it was the important words of the movie and so that the audience's attention is where we need it to be. The following is the information that is in our title sequence. ~Stardust~ The Title Sequence Title:  Stardust Studio Company:  Pineapple Pictures Production Company:  Kr!sCo...

Evaluation of Peer Reviews

What specific technical elements of the film opening did you like?  - I liked how the film started at a low angle with low-key lighting. It gave a sense of mystery as the clip cuts to a mid-shot show a guy play the piano but covers his face. I noticed some technical elements like close-up and point of view shot while the mystery man plays the piano. There was an upward tilt shot that started on the ground and made an emphasis because the mystery piano man was finally revealing himself. What specific technical elements of the film opening did you dislike? -I did not really like the tracking, of when the man was walking to his car. It took too long to capture and that may disengage the audience with the film. Other than that, the film was good, and I believe the technical elements worked really well with each other in coordinating the clips. Did this look like a movie opener and did it make you want to know what happens next? - It did look like a movie open...

Peer Reviews of First Cut Movie Opener

Image
GROUP 1- (Two Peas in a Pod) 1.  What specific technical elements of the film opening did you like? -One of the first technical elements that stood out to me was the zoom-in at the end of the conversation they were having. During this scene, there is a wide shot happening showing three friends sitting at a table, with two of them chatting and leaving the third one out, later zooming in on his face. The zoom-in captures the emotion and highlighted how lonely and left out he felt in his group. Another element that caught my eye was the tracking shot of the lonely friend as he goes around telling each person something different. With this shot I was able to follow the story and figure out what was happening. 2.  What specific technical elements of the film opening did you dislike? - An element in the film opening that I dislike was at the beginning of it where they show the front of the school for their establishing shot. I feel like this could have been left out and did not need...

Today in class we continued on our editing process and gathering all recordings into the editing app. We have all elements completed except for what is going to be playing throughout the video, but we do have a voiceover being edited by Kristian which we are going to be putting plus the soundtrack made by him. In the picture to the left, you can see me recording the voiceover we are going to put on the film.  In the picture to the right, you can see Kristian recording John for our opening sequence from a low angle while he is walking, you can also see the attire he is wearing which is business. In the picture below is another picture of Kristian recording in another location trying to get the best angles.  In the picture above is the screen of what our editing looks like. Our editor in the group is Kristian, in the picture he was currently trying to change the lighting of the scene trying to make it darker. As of sound, the sequence has none yet, but he is working on edi...
