Costuming

Today in class we went in detail with our choice of costume for our films. For my group we decided on a business style meaning formal and professional clothing. We choose this clothing to enhance the story by providing the audience with context clues to support the overall theme and so they can understand better what we are trying to portray by defining the character's role, personality, and background. This attire consists of a grey suit, collared white shirt, a tie, polished black dress shoes, boater black hat, and a trench coat. This type of clothing adds many elements to the character including their social status signifying their economic level may be high, their occupation showing he might work in an important company, and even their age signifying they might be older. All of these element's help shape the audience's perception of the character to understand the story being told.

Preparing To Film

Today in class we discussed the challenges and easy parts of preparing to film. In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges we faced as a group when preparing to film was choosing the best time and day for everyone as we are all busy afterschool with work and other activities. Another challenge we faced as a group was finding the location to film, we had an idea and what we wanted but could not decide on a place. On the other hand, the easy part of preparing for filming was the equipment and preparation, we have everything together including scripts and props, we just have to execute it and film the scene. Actors- Kristian, Jashua, John Costumes- will be provided by Kristian which would be a high class/ businessman suit Props- we will be using a camera and a piano Locations- theatre stage and parking lot Dates and Times- the following week Scripts- all finished, is mysterious and suspenseful

Mood Board For Opening Sequence

Image
The opening sequence for our group's movie is a businessman which is illustrated by the guy wearing a suit sitting in an office. The opening of our movie is taking place in a stage with the guy playing a piano which is why I put backstage lights and a piano to show how the scene will look like. The lighting in the movie will be lowkey and chiaroscuro which is the reason for the dark lighting in all pictures. My group and I have chosen this mood for our opening sequence, so it is filled with mystery and suspense and for people watching to enjoy the drama involved.

 1. DARE TO THRILL FILM - I had a lot of fun watching this film filled with thrill since it reminded me of when I would go out with my friends and experience all the excitement of going out without plans and going with the flow of what the night brings. You can tell compared with the other films they probably used their phones for the beginning since the lighting and focus was not the best, but it helps bring out the realness of a teenagers' life. As well with the clothing they were wearing which was modern and typical of what anyone would wear on a daily basis.  The use of the camera movements and angles of the car while driving was super nice, one of the best was the tracking shot they used. The film was like an action movie which I love and left me with wanting to know what they saw at the end when they all made shocked faces.  2. THE BLUE BOAR - After watching the film, I did not really understand what was happening although I could tell with the use of Victorian dres...
