All About Me

Hello !

My name is Elizabeth Figueroa and I am entering my senior year at Hollywood Hills while also doing dual enrollment at Sheridan Technical Collage. I decided I wanted to take a collage course to get started in the workforce early and have resources that can help me with that, while also help me decide what future career I would like to study. I am also part of the Cambridge program at this school which is the reason why I am taking media studies this year since is one of the credits I need to check off. The reason I joined and love this school is because of the ELMA JROTC program I am in, it has made me improved on myself since freshman year. I have joined raiders and drills as extracurricular activities and have also joined clubs like SADD and WOT. I am exited for my last year in high school and all the memories that are going to stay with me, I can not wait for what is in store for me for the rest of the year. Although media studies is not one of my favorite things, I am exited to see what new things I learn in this course.

GROUP 1- (Two Peas in a Pod) 1.  What specific technical elements of the film opening did you like? -One of the first technical elements that stood out to me was the zoom-in at the end of the conversation they were having. During this scene, there is a wide shot happening showing three friends sitting at a table, with two of them chatting and leaving the third one out, later zooming in on his face. The zoom-in captures the emotion and highlighted how lonely and left out he felt in his group. Another element that caught my eye was the tracking shot of the lonely friend as he goes around telling each person something different. With this shot I was able to follow the story and figure out what was happening. 2.  What specific technical elements of the film opening did you dislike? - An element in the film opening that I dislike was at the beginning of it where they show the front of the school for their establishing shot. Editing 2

 Today in class we continued on our editing process and gathering all recordings into the editing app. We have all elements completed except for what is going to be playing throughout the video, but we do have a voiceover being edited by Kristian which we are going to be putting plus the soundtrack made by him. In the picture to the left, you can see me recording the voiceover we are going to put on the film.  In the picture to the right, you can see Kristian recording John for our opening sequence from a low angle while he is walking, you can also see the attire he is wearing which is business. In the picture below is another picture of Kristian recording in another location trying to get the best angles.  In the picture above is the screen of what our editing looks like. Today in class we discussed our journey of the editing process and what we have so far. Our editor in the group is Kristian Bowers, although we are not finish with the whole filming, he has started editing what we have so far.    We have decided on 'playfair display' as for the font of the title since it goes best with the professional look of the film. As for color, we decided on dark colors like black and marron to symbolize the suspense, blood, and violence that is to come. We also plan on adding a dark tint effect to the film to illustrate the suspense. We have not yet added special transitions to the film, but we have added diegetic sound effects like footsteps and a gunshot. We also will be editing music in the background which was made by Kristian himself. A problem he encountered editing was fixing the steadiness of the recording, but we will be able to fix it.
