Editing 2

Image
Today in class we continued on our editing process and gathering all recordings into the editing app. We have all elements completed except for what is going to be playing throughout the video, but we do have a voiceover being edited by Kristian which we are going to be putting plus the soundtrack made by him. In the picture to the left, you can see me recording the voiceover we are going to put on the film.  In the picture to the right, you can see Kristian recording John for our opening sequence from a low angle while he is walking, you can also see the attire he is wearing which is business. In the picture below is another picture of Kristian recording in another location trying to get the best angles.  In the picture above is the screen of what our editing looks like. Our editor in the group is Kristian, in the picture he was currently trying to change the lighting of the scene trying to make it darker. As of sound, the sequence has none yet, but he is working on edi...

Editing 1

Today in class we discussed our journey of the editing process and what we have so far. Our editor in the group is Kristian Bowers, although we are not finish with the whole filming, he has started editing what we have so far.    We have decided on 'playfair display' as for the font of the title since it goes best with the professional look of the film. As for color, we decided on dark colors like black and marron to symbolize the suspense, blood, and violence that is to come. We also plan on adding a dark tint effect to the film to illustrate the suspense. We have not yet added special transitions to the film, but we have added diegetic sound effects like footsteps and a gunshot. We also will be editing music in the background which was made by Kristian himself. A problem he encountered editing was fixing the steadiness of the recording, but we will be able to fix it.

Filming Process

Image
Our group began filming last week on Thursday. Our first step was trying to get someone to be able to supervise us in our school auditorium since that was the location we picked out since we had seen it previously and taught it was the best option for our film since it did have a piano and it was a backstage with dark lighting, perfect for what we are doing. My group decided to go during their free period to be able to film.  This is our group member, Joshua, taking a close-up picture of the piano's strings since the piano scene is a big part of our opening sequence. He is also using the flashlight in the dark setting to be able to get the lighting we want.

Challenges in Film

Today in class we talked about the challenges we shared throughout the filming process of our video. The biggest one we faced as a group was trying to get the location of where we wanted to film, in our case we wanted to use the school auditorium. The challenge was getting someone to be able to supervise us while we filmed since we cannot be in there by ourselves, while also making sure not too many people were there so we wouldn't have a sound problem since capturing clear audio is crucial. That is why it is important to have a good team coordination, we made sure everyone is on the same page and fulfilling their roles. Having clear communication and a detailed plan to help keep everything organized. Another problem we had was getting everyone in the same place at the same time. We all don't have the same schedule, some of us are busier than others. To be able to handle these challenges, it involved a lot of planning and patience from everyone in the group. It was important t...
